Whats wrong with my touch pad on my computer? It doesn't work when i Sign in as a user but works when guest?

Mt touch pad is fine when you Sign in as a user and when your typing in your password to log into your computer but when i sign in the mouse stops working and doesnt move and wont click and im forced to use the touch screen. Its an hp computer. What did i do??
